In 1995, Todd Bish founded Interwest Interiors, an independent furniture dealer in Edmonton. In 2013, the company turned into Solutions Business Interiors (SBI), an early effort to begin positioning ourselves as more than furniture. Our goal was to create a customer value proposition that differed from all the other furniture dealers. We were able to fill a gap in the market by focusing catering to the design community and pursuing different markets such as healthcare. As a result, SBI became one of the top contract furniture dealerships in Western Canada.
In 2019, Solutions completed the acquisition of Norlab Laboratory Systems. In 2021 the acquisition of Richking Interiors and Division Nine Flooring followed, turning the Solutions brand into a group of companies. The new integration model provides not only diversification, but an interdependent organization where each business strategically performs on its own – but now under a broadened leadership.
On a personal level, Todd Bish has been building his business to be synonymous with high quality,excellence, innovation, and performance. He has also been a member of YPO (Young President’s Organization) Alberta for 16 years. Currently he serves on the board of trustees of the Stollery children’s hospital foundation, where he helped to raise more than $700,000 and continues to support the foundation through fundraisers and events.
Todd’s commitment to excellence in his organization and philanthropic projects are what drives the foundation of our work and serve as a guiding principle that supports our company culture.
